Hanover native, mom and wife, and storyteller at heart. I left Hanover in my 20s and never thought I’d return, but here I am. After bouncing across the country, I found myself longing for the familiarity of home. So my husband and I decided to move back to our hometown to raise our son. Despite moving back almost a decade ago, I still haven’t found where I truly belong in Hanover. It’s the same feeling I struggled with as a teenager, but now I’m graced with the perspective of adulthood. Instead of running from that feeling, I’ve decided to face it head on. I started writing Heart of Hanover to find the sense of connection, belonging, and community lack I've deprived myself of due to years of social media doomscrolling. This project isn't just for myself. It's for all of us who feel unseen here. It turns out Hanover has changed a lot in the last 20 years. I know Hanover like the back of my hand, but there's also so much to discover. There are so many amazing local events happening that I’d never heard of. I’ve also discovered small but powerful businesses that are shaping a bright future for Downtown Hanover. Heart of Hanover is a local newsletter, but I write it as if it were my personal journal. Join me as I rediscover what makes Hanover special, and I promise you’ll start falling in love with this town again — just like I did.
