Five Ways to Ease Back Into Hanover
If getting back out into the world has felt harder than it should… you’re not alone.
This week isn’t about doing the most. It’s about doing something. A short walk. A low-pressure class. A quick loop downtown with your kids before everyone melts down.
Five simple ways to ease back into Hanover without overcommitting or burning out.

🥨 Built by Neighbors
Every big idea starts with a few people who believe in it early.

🧘♀️ Move: Start Small
Life In Balance Yoga
📍 129 Broadway
Warmer weather is right around the corner, which means it’s time to start waking your body back up. You don’t need to commit to a gym membership or develop a full workout plan just yet. Instead, I’d recommend trying something like gentle yoga.
Life In Balance Yoga has a few beginner-friendly options this week, and they even offer a livestream class. If showing up somewhere new feels like too much, starting in your living room should feel like a safer alternative.

I almost didn’t share this one because I wanted to be greedy. Decked Out Donuts is a hidden gem in Hanover that I’d happily keep to myself, but this business deserves the attention.
They’re tucked into a quieter part of Hanover, which is probably why I didn’t know they existed. You’ll find them in a small shopping complex beside Menchey Music on High Street.
If you’re ordering online, give them at least a day’s notice. After reading reviews, one thing was clear: they sell out fast. I wasn’t taking chances, so I pre-ordered a few must-tries (carrot cake muffins and a cinnamon roll).
I got there shortly after opening and immediately noticed the space. Clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Everything feels fresh and intentional, and yes, the baked goods live up to it.
My order was ready when I walked in, but I still left with a second box. I shared the extras with family and friends, and everything still tasted just as fresh the next day.
What I recommend:
▪️The carrot cake muffins do not disappoint. Soft, fluffy, and topped with cream cheese icing that’s rich without being too sweet.
▪️You have to try the donuts. Big, light, and airy. The glazed and chocolate sprinkle are easy wins, but the standout for me was the chocolate peanut butter. Rich, but not overwhelming. Think lighter peanut butter fudge.
▪️They rotate seasonal options too. Right now it’s Easter and spring-themed donuts with peeps and strawberries.

⭐⭐⭐ Emerson-Approved
People got a kick out of Emerson’s review for GrillRilla, so we’re going to keep this going.
Decked Out Donuts earned 3 Emerson Stars, which wasn’t surprising this time. I don’t think Emerson has ever encountered a donut he didn’t like, so they had a head start. He usually only gets donuts on Sundays after church, but this week he was asking to go back on Monday. He was pretty heartbroken when I told him they were closed until Thursday, but I think waiting made his second visit even more magical.
Consider us regulars at Decked Out Donuts. We’ve already been there twice. Our first visit was last Thursday, and it might become a weekly thing. Go early. They sell out fast.
Gluten-free friends, don’t hate me. I’ve got something for you next week.

📢 Listen: Hear Your Neighbors
No Kings Rally
📍Downtown Hanover
📅 Saturday, March 28 | ⏰ 2 PM
A local rally organized by Hanover for Progress, centered on civic engagement and peaceful assembly. If you’ve been feeling the urge to be around other people who care about what’s happening right now, this is a space to show up and stand alongside your neighbors.
Nonperishable food donations will be collected for a local nonprofit. Bring easy, shelf-stable basics like canned goods, pasta, rice, peanut butter, soup, and grab-and-go items like oatmeal or granola bars. If you want to be extra helpful: pull-tab cans and single-serve items are always appreciated.

💌 Final Thoughts
You don’t need a full reset. You don’t need a new routine.
You just need one reason to leave the house.
Pick something small. Stay for as long as it feels good. Leave when you’re done. That counts.
And if nothing in here feels like “your thing” yet, that’s okay too. You’re still allowed to take your time getting back.
I’ll keep finding the reasons.
XoXo,
Megan
