Celebrate more than five decades of good times on wheels! Magic Elm is throwing an anniversary bash complete with food, music, and retro vibes. Admission is $10 ($5 for spectators).

If Magic Elm has ever held a special place in your heart, this is your night to show up — regardless of your age or skill level. Let’s fill the rink with everyone: old-timers and first-timers, parents with strollers, wheelchairs, rollerblades, derby pros, and toddlers on training wheels. Magic Elm gave us the gift of roller skating, and for that, we should all be thankful.

This event will likely draw those of us who were outraged by what unfolded during the Halloween parade last week, but I especially urge those who didn’t understand our outrage to attend.
